We are so honoured and privileged to have had Sandra do a sketch of our daughter, Stella. Sandra is a stranger to us, but she read about our daughter, who was diagnosed with a fatal brain tumor, and surprised us by sending a framed sketch of our precious girl. For the year that Stella lived with her tumor, Sandra's sketch sat in our front hallway where every single person who walked in and out of the house could see it. Everyone who saw it commented how incredible it was, how the likeness was so close and how she had managed to capture the light in her eyes. After Stella died, we moved the sketch to our dining room where it sits in a place of honour, watching over us as we attempt to continue living after the devastating loss of our only daughter. Sandra's work comforts us, bringing a little bit of our impish girl back to us. It also serves as an incredible reminder of the generosity and selflessness that exists in this world, to have had a stranger send such an incredible gift.
